Bubble tea, tea houses, Asian bakeries and dessert shops in this group are usually walk-in, counter-order businesses with a menu board overhead listing sweetness and ice levels you can adjust when ordering. Standard bubble tea customization includes sugar level (0-100%), ice level, and a choice of toppings like boba pearls, pudding or jelly, usually at a small extra charge. Asian bakeries sell items individually with tongs and a tray, cafeteria-style, rather than pre-boxed, and pastries are typically less sweet than Western bakery items. Lines build up quickly after school and in the evening, especially near colleges. Most of these businesses accept cards and mobile pay and skew younger in clientele and atmosphere.

Gorgeous new bakery and coffee shop. Will be my new spot for a little reading or laptop work. Had a delicious financier and yuzu pound cake. Love the story and mission behind this store in supporting those with disabilities. I’ll be back!

I was wanting to try out this new bakery as soon as I saw the coming soon signs, many months ago. I love my pastries. They are currently doing a soft-opening, so I know they are working on some things; such as not yet able to take cash, and for some reason they do not have the wooden stir sticks to add sweetener into your hot coffee. (They also only have a tray for the discards, next to the lids and sweeteners, which feels like leaving an unnecessary mess, in a common space, right where people pick up their drinks.) I got a hot oatmilk vanilla latte, and the oatmilk was good (not bitter), I could taste the vanilla which was subtle and not overly sweet (they make their own syrup, so they do a great job with that), but my latte was warm, not hot, and I really couldn't get the flavor of the coffee at all. The baked good counter area is small, because they have more emphasis on showing the kitchen, which is interesting, but again, not much room for displaying the fare. I got a chocolate chip cookie, which I would say is missing a flavor profile, because it is the thin-type but is neither buttery nor caramel-like but you can taste the good quality darker chocolate chunks. The cookie jus
